Q-LON FOAM WEATHER SEALS

The unique Q-LON seals made from a special polyurethane foam, contained in a weather resistant polyethylene liner.

A combination of polyurethane, polypropylene (or polycarbonate) insert and polyethylene liner makes Q-LON one of the best weatherseals in the world. Suitable for timber, PVC and aluminium windows and doors in compression and sliding applications.

Features

Excellent memory
Returns to its original shape after being compressed up to 50% more than other extruded seals, even at extremely low temperatures.
Very low thermal conductivity
Q-LON offers the lowest thermal conductivity on the market (0.04 W/m•K at 0ºC), 3 to 6 times better than other materials.
Perfect adherence
The window requires low compression force when closing. Q-LON therefore continues to provide a tight seal even when the window undergoes alterations due to temperature fluctuations or ageing.
Everlasting
The external polyethylene film is not altered by paints, detergents or dyes. It is highly resistant to atmospheric conditions and UV radiation.
Excellent sound insulation
Exceptional acoustic insulation performance thanks to high compression ability.
Fire retardant
Seals classified to EN 13501-1, Class E, designed to reduce the spread of fire when in contact with it, slowing the speed of flames and avoiding the dispersion of flammable material.
Also for sliding
Compared with common brush seals, Q-LON offers highly superior air/water tightness, noise insulation performance and styling. Tested for friction damage on sliding doors to 40,000 cycles.

EN 12365 2003 weatherseal classification

Under EN 12365 2003 there is a prescribed classification system that enables window, door, shutter and curtain walling manufacturers or installers to ensure that they are using the component that best meets their requirements.

Q-LON consistently delivers the highest levels of performance, especially when it comes to Deflection recovery and Recovery after ageing.

Other certifications and testing

  • ISO 9001
International Quality Standard controlling the manufacturing process.
  • EN 12365
Performance requirement and classification of gaskets for fenestration.
